This trip was totally a last minute decision...but what an amazing experience!! We drove through Italy, France and then Spain to reach Alicante for the 2016 Worlds' Veteran Table Tennis Championships. It was a total of over 30 hours of driving and the kids did amazing! When we reached the tournament it was already underway and we were able to be there for the semifinals and finals in both singles and doubles. What I loved the most about the experience was the level of excitement of the crowd watching the matches...everyone that was not playing anymore was cheering and the atmosphere in the building was electric! It was truly inspiring to see players well over 80 and even 90 still competing!!
